I developed workflows that use 3D-generated maps as inputs to guide AI generation. The aim is to explore different looks while keeping movement and shapes consistent with the underlying scene.
The animation explorations.
Examples from the original project, showing the visual explorations behind the workflow.
Five passes.
Different kinds of control.
- Depth: general motion and spatial guidance.
- Normals: additional surface and texture detail.
- Toon shading: reinforcement of the object’s design and shape.
- Isolated design detail: a separate pass to help keep the sneaker’s swoosh consistent.
- Cryptomatte: masks for controlling individual areas of the scene.

Because the Cinema 4D scene does not need a finished beauty render, I can iterate on generated looks while continuing to use the scene as a guide.
